Idle Time 02:29
There’s a wall of fire Closing in Where the ground controller Dropped the pin Iridescent bolts ig- -nite the sky And the sun’s outshone by Air on fire And where all that’s solid Melts to air Only lifeless ash a- -waits us there Gray miasma strews About ground Where it’s only silence left resounding Through these Blank Sur- -round- -ings Once we see the flash Fractions of an instant pass Before we feel the blast Once the missiles flash Only idle time remains So take the time to make the Fractured instant (Dazzling brilliance) last

You went to heaven To find the highness But heaven left you Blind and eyeless Thoughts of highness Drew you onwards The view denied And your eyesight squandered (oh…) You sought the secret To view the highness But seeking left you Mute and mindless So the secret Teased you further The vista feigned And your pretense nurtured (oh…) Tell me, did you catch a glimpse of the highness? Tell me, did you see the crown? Tell me, have you joined the ranks of the righteous? Share your story, Sweet Vainglory!

Can you tell your agitation swells As you watch the pendulum impel Both the hands in circles as it sways? Is your stomach turning with the clock And the cloying melodies it plays? Are you aware the ache's too much to bear As the clock so faithfully declares Your unease with each melodic phrase? Is your stomach turning with the clock And the cloying melodies it plays? I can tell The clock makes you unwell As it marks the time That you’re thrown By the tone of the bells And the sound of the chime You let on The clock upsets your calm And your peace of mind That your ill Mood’ll still Linger on Past the very last chime Do you find your agitation climbs As you watch the instruments give sign To the moon’s forever waning phase? Is your stomach turning with the clock And the cloying melodies it plays?

What the hand intends, the eyes appraise Though seizures rend and fevers blaze And the hand demands the last indulgence Cruel stirrings swell that becloud the eye And impel the hand To invoke the knife Then the hand rescinds one nerve inflamed, Two tangled limbs, three braided veins So the hand commands the last indulgence Any part’s maligned that could aid the eye And unbind the hand To withdraw the knife Can you hear the body turning over? And the body breaking down? Can you hear the body rotting In The Gound? There beneath the flowers and the clovers Does the body make a sound? As the weeds take root atop the Dead And Rot- -ting Mound?

From the lip of the vial To the tip of the spade To the moon bayoneting the window shade To the bloody hands Of the gunclad lawman From the edge of the rule To the tip of the nail To the blood of the Son in the father’s grail To the dying hare In the hunter’s snare Is this how your thoughts arrange When mania calls your name And compulsion climbs the vein? You could well despair If what you find Touches off the air And what’s left behind Throws your mind Into disrepair You could well despair For quite some time If the will is there If you’re so inclined… (Oh…) From the coil of the spring To the teeth of the gear To the suicide hung from the chandelier To the drowning stray In the cistern spillway From the lip of the vial To the tip of the spade To the shadows entwined with the colonnade To the wretch’s spite With no end in sight

Dust On the Floor There's a Stranger At the Door Say, Have you Heard his Name be- -Fore? Doors Open wide Did he Make his Way in- -side? Say, Would you Reach him If you Tried? (Diamonds) Brilliant diamonds One: What have you done? Diamonds Brilliant diamonds Two: What can you do?

Once his story falls apart Well it shouldn’t be too long Before the real amusement starts Wait a while The dissenter’s standing trial But it shouldn’t be too long Before the gunmen drag his Body down the Aisle Now he's clutching at his chains Well it shouldn’t be too long Before the gunmen call his name Wait a while There’s some paperwork to file But it shouldn’t be too long Before his body slumps and Bleeds out on the Tiles Don’t pretend It’s not welcome now-and-then That you don’t receive a thrill Each time the gunmen make the kill Once it ends We’ll be decent once again But it won’t be done until The point our appetites are filled Take a seat behind the glass Well it shouldn’t be too long Before the condemnations pass Wait a while There’s some paperwork to file But it shouldn’t be too long Before the gunmen throw a Body on the Pile

Ode 02:50
Over by the houses on the hill There’s a mirrored building standing still Let it in on your agonies and worries And when all its glinting windowpanes Take turns in taunting you by name Just close your eyes to see The skyline veiled by rust And the city ground to dust Underneath the bridges by the square You can find the river flowing there Let it in on your agonies and worries And when every vaulted riverside Joins up in stomping on your pride Just close your eyes to see The skyline veiled by rust And the city ground to dust High above the battered city roads There beguiling letters shine aglow Let them in on your agonies and worries And when all their colors, shapes, and lines Take joy in treating you unkind Just close your eyes to see The skyline veiled by rust And the city ground to dust
